How to Report a Concern
All members of the University community are asked to report compliance concerns. A compliance concern includes a potential violation of an applicable law, regulation, or University policy. You do not need to know the exact law or requirement, or be certain a violation has or will occur. When in doubt, the better course of action is to report.
Please choose the best reporting option for you.
Option 1: Contact your Supervisor/Department for guidance.
The best place to raise a concern often begins within your own department or with your supervisor. Usually, your department will be the most familiar with the issues and best equipped to address or raise a concern to a higher level.
Option 2: Contact the appropriate University Compliance Partner.
Sometimes compliance concerns cannot be addressed within your department and are best raised to those with expertise related to the concern. You may consider contacting a University Compliance Partner for further guidance or assistance. Key University Compliance Partners include:
- University Police for concerns regarding criminal behavior or campus security.
- Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution Office for student Code of Conduct violations.
- Office of Equal Opportunity, Ethics and Access for concerns about unethical behavior, fraud corruption, misuse of University resources, discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and sexual misconduct
- University Athletics for concerns regarding NCAA issues.
- Environmental Health & Safety for health, safety or OSHA concerns.
- Facilities Management for building & facilities concerns.
- Human Resources for concerns related to personnel issues.
- Internal Audit for concerns relating to accounting and financial issues.
- Research & Sponsored Programs for concerns related to research, laboratory use, animal care, conflict of interest, or scientific misconduct.

Option 3: Report your compliance concern to EthicsPoint ISU.
If you are uncomfortable raising a concern about non-compliance through normal University channels you can report your concern to EthicsPoint ISU on an anonymous basis. EthicsPoint ISU is managed by the University Ethics Office and the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access.
